@SUFCFutsal to @SUFCEducation: A new chapter for the Trust
The Trust begins a new chapter this September, moving away from Futsal for the first time in eight years.
Scunthorpe and Education Academy…
Introducing the Scunthorpe and Education Academy. We’ve forged a link with the Iron’s Academy, who work with 16-to-18-year-old scholars who are working towards a professional contract and also a college course and with the SUFC Trust you’ll be doing exactly the same thing.
Previously, candidates have studied an NCFE Level Three Extended Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity (with Futsal) here at the Sands Venue Stadium, but the Trust have made the decision to move away from the Futsal aspect of the course to focus on 11-a-side football. Scholars will now study an NCFE Level Three Extended Diploma in Sport & Physical Activity (Sports Coaching).
A goodbye to Futsal…
It’s been a tremendously successful period where Futsal is concerned.
Over EIGHT years, we’ve welcome 212 STUDENTS, won SIX LEAGUE TITLES and TWO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
One of the other highlights over the eight years saw one side reach the SEMI-FINAL OF THE SOCCER AM CUP which saw the team play at the COPPER BOX ARENA, which was purpose built for the 2012 Olympic Games held in London.
Onto a new chapter, with more success stories, more memories and more qualifications.
